Homemade cakes and tarts are also available and naturally there is the famous music and dance programme for the young and young at heart. You can spend your time having fun, buy all manner of top-quality, lovely products in the HofMarket and find out about our history on the exploration tour.
Children are every bit as enthused by a visit as fans of tradition. The animal enclosures and ponds are home to goats, ducks, chickens, sheep, rabbits, koi carp, tortoises and alpacas which can be admired, fed and petted. There are also two large adventure playgrounds where children can let off steam and one for smaller children.
Thermal springs and enjoyable bathing
Our neighbouring town of Bad Füssing is the largest spa resort in Europe and offers three thermal springs where guests can relax and stay healthy:
- Europa Therme: A 3000-m² thermal water landscape situated next to Bad Füssing’s spa gardens
- Johannesbad Thermal Spa: 4,500 m² of curative water in the Johannesbad rehabilitation centre
- Therme 1, from which Bad Füssing’s legendary curative water first welled up in 1938, is linked to the 3,000-m² Saunahof, a Rottaler four-sided courtyard
In the Lower Bavarian Spa Triangle you will also find the wellness spa resort of Bad Griesbach and the resort of Bad Birnbach in the Rottal Valley. In neighbouring Austria the Therme Geinberg spa resort is well worth a visit.
Sports activities
The Lower Bavarian Spa Triangle is also known for its large number of golf courses. No fewer than seven resorts offer a fabulous variety for all levels of golfer, from novice to pro. Anyone who prefers to use their feet, whether to hike, walk or cycle, can enjoy an abundance of routes either direct from the hotel or within a short journey time. The Bavarian Forest is around 1.5 hours away and offers the opportunity to pursue a variety of sports year-round. These include hiking, climbing, tobogganing and skiing. Family-friendly fun on the pistes also awaits you in the neighbouring Mühlviertel region, where the Hochficht ski area is usually guaranteed to have snow.
